When we think of meditation, we automatically relate it to “relaxation” or “feeling good”. In fact, Chan Meditation, one of the most powerful meditation schools, advocates to sit and endure discomforts while meditating in sitting posture. In fact, only hard work and consistent effort will produce genuine results in meditation training.
For the past years, we have trained countless students who already meditated for many years but couldn't get the results they wanted. We are not here to please you and make you feel good, and we are here to help you so that you can get what you want!
What is Chan Meditation
Chan meditation is the most advanced form of Mahayana Buddhist meditation. We follow the tradition of Wei Yang lineage, one of five Chinese Chan schools transmitted by Grand Dharma Master Hsuan Hua. We adapt Chinese Chan training methods to the Western culture and modern times and call it "American Chan".
What we’ll do
- We start by greeting and stretching
- Learn sitting posture & several techniques of meditation
- Silent meditation 15~30 mins (We will decide that day)
- Questions and answers, socializing.
What to Bring
- Yoga Mat or Towel
- Wear comfortable pants
Shana Han is the founder and CEO of Hansderma, Inc. She has successfully established her business in her late 20s. She is now a meditation instructor national wide. For the past years, Shana has dedicated her time to practice Chan and Mahayana Buddhism. Because she got so much out of this practice, she decided to share this wonderful experience with others. With her teacher’s help, Dharma Master YongHua, she started to teach Chan Meditation.
