Harvest Moon Lake Austin Night Paddle

Hola Night Paddlers, we are gonna head for the cleaner, algae-free waters of Lake Austin this month to take in the Supermoon and partial lunar eclipse.

Meet at the Walsh Landing boat ramp (just down from Hula Hut / Mozart’s). $5 paid parking available across street in gravel lot at Bonnie & Scenic Dr. Free parking available at Oyster Landing Addl Parking lot above Enfield & Scenic Dr.

If parking at free lots you may want to drop your gear on the lawn to the right of boat ramp, then park and come back.
No parking on the boat ramp please and recommend not leaving any valuables in view in your car.

We'll try to be on the water by 7:15 to catch the sunset and paddle across the lake to Bee Creek in the no-wake zone.

Here are the basics, post or message me with any questions:

1. Bring your own board or kayak, paddle, lights, life vest if desired, and any snacks or drinks you'd care to responsibly consume (no glass or styrofoam please).
2. No rental options onsite, if you need a board or kayak you can post to the group and perhaps a kind soul will have an extra available.
3. All are welcome! Please be able to 1) Swim, 2) Carry your equipment about 100 yards down to the water, and 3) Paddle in some form or fashion. The group may move at different paces but will end up at the same place.
4. Pets are at owner's discretion. Algae
   shouldn’t be a concern on Lake Austin, but it can be a bit more wavy and windy.
5. High wind, rain, or lightning will cancel. Check the chat section for updates.
6. Have fun! Please say hi, and ask for or offer help as needed.
