๐ Sportsmanship Code to follow
Casual games should never result in injuries. Safety always comes before winning a point.
๐ Scoring & Honesty
- Announce the score: The server must call out the score loudly and clearly before every single serve so everyone is on the same page.
- Call your own infractions: If you touch the net, lift the ball, or double-contact a set, call it on yourself immediately.
- Respect the boundary calls: The team on the side where the ball lands has the final say on whether it was "in" or "out." If it is too close to call, simply replay the point.
๐ Safety & Collisions
- Call for the ball: Avoid collisions by loudly yelling "Mine!", "I got it!", or "Me!" well before making contact.
- Watch the centerline: Never let your feet completely cross the centerline under the net. Landing over the line is the number one cause of sprained ankles and collisions.
- Yield to avoid injury: If you and a teammate are sprinting for the same ball and a collision is imminent, the player with the worse angle should yield. A dropped point is better than a broken nose.
๐ Serving Etiquette
- Wait for the defense: Do not serve the ball until the opposing team is on the court, looking at you, and visibly ready.
