Debugging is twice as hard as writing new code, and since we’re all such clever coders we tend to outwit ourselves. This talk covers five fear-inducing categories of bugs observed in a decade of debugging, and the strategies that work for getting them fixed.

Speaker: Joeri Sebrechts has spent the past several years leading the development effort to build the PHP-based myMCS WebPortal enterprise software suite at mcssolutions.com (http://mcssolutions.com/). Lately he has been shifting gears to build a Hadoop-based IoT platform, which has brought new perspectives. Nevertheless he remains fond of PHP and all its quirks and charms.

Making PHP see using the Google Cloud Vision API by Thijs Feryn (https://twitter.com/ThijsFeryn)

The use of artificial intelligence is getting more and machine learning techniques are used to automate tedious work. The Google Cloud Vision API is a very nice tool that analyses pictures. It can recognize people, objects and places.

I created a small PHP library that wraps this API. I'll show you how it works and how you can benefit from artificial intelligence by throwing some pictures at it.

Speaker: Thijs Feryn is a technical evangelist at a Belgian webhosting company called Combell. His goal is to bring technology to the people and people to technology. He focuses on bridging the gap between code and infrastructure. Thijs is also involved in many open source communities and leads the PHPBenelux community. He speaks, listens, writes, codes, teaches, organizes and is above all very excited to speak at this PHP Antwerp meetup.
