BDD with PHPSpec by Dries Vints

PHPSpec allows us to test our objects in a different way than tools like PHPUnit do. Rather than focussing on testing the implementation of objects we'll test the behavior. In this talk I'll do a live coding session where we'll go over the practical usage of PHPSpec to test your objects.

Speaker: Dries Vints (https://twitter.com/DriesVints) works as a developer lead for BeatSwitch (https://www.beatswitch.com/). He also manages the Laravel community portal, Laravel.IO (http://laravel.io/).

REST API edge cases by Hannes Van De Vreken

If you're lucky you can use so-called REST APIs in your daily work. Except, some of the largest (social) APIs make mistakes against the basic rules of REST. If you happen to be in the process of designing a REST API, you better refresh your knowledge on those REST principles. This talk will explain some quick REST API principles with lots of real-life examples, followed by some edge case designs including soft-deletes and "likes" as sub resources.

Speaker: Hannes Van De Vreken (https://twitter.com/hannesvdvreken) is a developer living in Ghent, Belgium. He works with madewithlove (http://madewithlove.be/) on some interesting startup projects. He likes to learn new tricks, design patterns and tools by reading about and using all kinds of open source tools. Occasionally sends a PR to improve the tools he uses. He's a very happy member of this meetup group.

A Use-Case Architecture by Shawn McCool

Speaker: Shawn McCool (https://twitter.com/ShawnMcCool) is an independent developer and consultant living in Utrecht, where he works with the developer collective Big Name (http://heybigname.com/). He participates in various Laravel community projects including the organization of Laracon EU (http://laracon.eu/).
