We are heading to Morocco for the ultimate adventure: including Big Cities (Tangier, Fes, Marrakesh) staying in Riads in the Old Medinas - true authentic experience. The Blue City of Chefchaouen, a beautiful hotel with views of the mountains and Merzouga to see the Sand Dunes of Sahara Desert including an overnight stay in the desert by camel ride to see the stars!

November is a good time to visit as nice sunny, warm weather in the day and also ideal weather for the desert as not too hot, which beats the cold UK winter for an awesome break.

TANGIER - 1 Night, CHEFCHAOUEN - 2 Nights, FES - 1 Night, MERZOUGA - 3 nights (Including Camp in Desert), MARRAKESH - 2 Nights

Day 1 - Tangier Arrival
We will arrive in Tangier for the first evening and explore the Old Medina by night, experience the culture and our first meal.

Day 2 - Chefchaouen Arrival and Night Tour
After breakfast in Tangier and a bit of time to explore in the morning, we head to Chefchoauen where we will check in our amazing hotel with a breathtaking view of the mountains and the blue city. We can grab a late lunch in the main square before heading on a night tour of Chefchoaeun with local guide.

Day 3 - Akchour Waterfalls and Explore Rest of Chefchaouen
Today we head to Akchour Waterfalls into the mountains with a guide, a short drive from Chefchaouen, with some scenic views along the way. We will head to see the amazing rock formation of “Gods Bridge” an easy one hour trek. There will be waterfalls along the way and a chance to swim in the water near Gods Bridge. We will grab Lunch along the way and we will be given a tour by the guide to see the parts of Chefchaouen we haven’t seen in the night tour. We can catch the sunset with view of Medinas in the evening with short walk up part of the mountain and grab dinner in the main square in the evening.

Day 4 - Morning in Chefchaouen and Evening in Fes and Hammam (Day of Relaxation)
A final morning in Chefchaoeun to explore before, there will also be an optional Yoga and Pranayama session which we can do in the morning in the forrest with a breathtaking view of Chefchaoen. At midday we head to Fez. In around 4 hours we will arrive in Fez, after checking in the hotel we will head to get a Hammam
Following that we will explore the Old Medina of Fez which is truly historic dating back to the 9th century, more time for food, shopping and drinking some Moroccan Tea.

Day 5 - Head to Merzouga - see sunset in Dunes
An early morning and rise in Fez and Road Trip to the desert, we will make stops along the way for lunch and hope to arrive to Merzouga late afternoon with a chance to quickly checkin and explore the sand dunes for sunset which are directly opposite our accommodation. Following that we will have a traditional dinner cooked for us included and adjust to laid back desert life.

Day 6 - Dunes Trek and Quad Bike
Today we will look to do a small trek around the Dunes (bring lots of water and lunch) - break into groups depending on what you want to explore and also allow free time to explore dunes at your leisure, and check out local shops today. We will gather in the late afternoon for Quad Bike Ride around the Dunes also - one of the highlights of the trip with the open space on the Dunes

Day 7 - 4X4 Tour and Overnight Camp in Desert
Today we will do a 4X4 Tour around Merzouga seeing the key sights: Khamlia (black village) with Live Music, Taouz, rock engravings, reg mountains, stones, sand roses, and tea in a nomad family's camp, also Souk in Rissani which is on a Thursday.
Following that we will do a one hour Camel Ride to our overnight camp in the desert with locals who will cook us dinner, have a fire and perform live music. Highlight will be seeing the amazing stars at night for a day to remember.

Day 8 - Head to Marrakesh and Food Tour
In the morning we will rise for sunset, camel ride back for a shower at the hotel and breakfast before we will do our trip to final location in Marrakesh. We will explore the Medina and Main Square of Marrakesh before taking part in a food tour in the evening.

Day 9 - Atlas Mountains
Another highlight for today as we head to the Atlas Mountains - whether you want to Summit the Atlas Mountains or hike to see the waterfalls (we can split into two groups depending on challenge) - It will be a moderate level trek - although it will be 6 hours so let us know which you would like to do. Lunch will be included. We will return to the Marrakesh for a final night there.

Day 10 - Hot Air Balloon Option Final Morning - Head Back
How about a Hot Air Balloon tour for the final morning! Which you will be able to see the fantastic Atlas Mountains and Desert around Marrakesh for a true bucket list event! This is optional so if instead you would like to explore Marrakesh for final morning before our flight back then you can do that.

Accomodation
You will be staying at 5 different hotels and a bivouac in the desert, all breakfast included and you will have a room to share or own room at additional cost in a mixture of 3 star and 4 star hotels/Riads. You will be staying at:

Dar Yasmine - Tangier (1 Night)
Vancii Hotel - Chefchaouen - (2 Nights)
Dar Hafsa - Fes (1 Night)
La Vallée des Dunes - Merzouga (3 Nights) (Include Overnight Camp in Desert*)
*Note this will consist of 3 tents so we will have to share - all part of the experience for night under the starts
Riad Makech - Marrakesh (2 nights)

Visa and Entry Restrictions
No Visa needed from UK (Please Check if you have a different country of origin)

Requirements for trip

  • In line with the values of the group, taking responsibility for themselves and ability to step out their comfort zone to learn new skills and give things a go, punctuality and to go with the flow of the group, whilst being able to do your own thing on free days without depending on others
  • Moderate levels of fitness for a couple of trail walks/ Atlas Mountains has a more challenging option which can split up, also walking around the Dunes as well
  • Open minded and willingness to try new activities and experience a new culture

Flights
You will need to get your own flights to Morocco. Please Note that we will fly to and out of different airports, flying into Tangier and out of Marrakesh.

Outbound - Friday 14th November - Air Arabia
LGW 15:30 -> TNG 19:25 (Tangier)
Inbound - Sunday 23rd November - Easy Jet
RAK 3:30pm -> LHR 6:10pm (Marrakesh)

Recommended Flights out of Gatwick - currently good price. Feel free to get your own flights but do note that Flights to Tangier are rare and also Flight Back from Marrakech will need to be in the afternoon if you plan to do Hot Air Balloon in the morning.

Also Note for luggage we recommend a bag and bringing a small case, as we will be travelling around a bit multiple locations - but do let me know. I will keep you posted what to bring, the days are warm but the evenings can be a bit cold.

Other

  • You will need to get your own insurance to attend and check based on activities
  • Please note that the schedule may change slightly, an activity may change, also hotels depending on availability but expect activities and hotels of similar value. Expect up to 10% of trip to change at most - due to availability issues or to improve the trip
  • Full Documentation on every day will be provided 2 - 3 weeks before the trip as well as a group Zoom call a week before to go through all the info. We will also provide a breakdown of activities and approx agenda 1 month before as well as set up a whats app group after the zoom call. Total cost for the trip is £1,200 ONLY - Option for your own Room is £175 extra (Depending on availability - also note for Desert overnight stay you will need to share a tent with others.

Deposit of £350 to hold your space, with final payment due 6 weeks before the trip.
