Memorial Day Sugarloaf & Sand Live Oak Trail- Carolina Beach State Park

On this hike we will meet at the Carolina Beach State Park Marina parking lot and begin our hike on the Sugarloaf Trail traveling on the coastal fringe of that trail. We'll stop at the Sugarloaf Dune to admire the view of the river and then continue on the Sand Live Oak Trail. -this a loop trail that goes through a sand dune forest and loops back onto the Sugarloaf trail which we will take back to the parking lot. The hike is about 3.0 miles.
Please bring plenty of water, sunscreen, a hat, bug spray and comfortable walking shoes. The hike is relatively flat except for the slight incline to the Sugarloaf Dune
Feel free to bring a guest.
Well behaved dogs on a leash are welcome.
To get to the marina- enter the Carolina Beach State Park off of Dow Road and continue straight past the Welcome Center on your right- the main road will take you straight to the marina.
