4th Annual Scary Dairy Halloween Hike, 7 miles/700'

Come on out and celebrate Halloween with a visit to the Scary Dairy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scary_dairy), haunted by the ghosts of the old Camarillo State Mental Hospital (now California State University Channel Islands). This hike is suitable for just about anyone, because we'll take our time, take pics, and there will be time to catch up if necessary.

We'll take a jaunt on the lower trails, go all around the ponds, visit the abandoned haunted playground, and check out Camarillo's very own "Bridge to Nowhere."

Trailblazing? No, these trails have been trodden before.

Exploratory? No, Been There, Done That.

Bushwacking? Very little now! The fire crews have done a great job opening up the trails, there's still a some little bit of brush. It's easy to get through though the cacti areas now.

CSUCI Peak -- on the very right.

Rhombus Rock -- the rocky outcropping on the left of CSUCI Peak.

Don't sign up if you've been a "no show" at any Meetup.

ESTIMATED Stats: 7 miles/700'.

Level: Easy to moderate, depending on your level of conditioning.

Terrain: Fire road, single track, high grasses.

Bring: Water, lunch, snack for self, trekking poles if you like using them.

Wear: Layers, boots with lug soles, long pants for brush protection.

Dogs: Well behaved, leashed dogs welcome if they can be quiet and sit still if a horse approaches. Please clean up after your dog.
