Ojai Foothill Trail/Foothill Fire Road/Gridley Fire Rd/Shelf Rd Loop

Come and join me on a beautiful, scenic hike in Ojai along the Foothill Trail/Foothill Fire Road to Gridley Fire Road to the Shelf Road Loop. This is a 6.4-mile loop with an elevation gain of approx. 900 feet. The scenery is beautiful! We will see lovely, sweeping views of the Ojai Valley.

Approx. duration of hike: 3.5 hours

Meeting place: Take the 33 North to Ojai. Continue straight into downtown Ojai along Ojai Ave. Turn left at Signal St. When Signal St. curves to the right, continue straight toward the mountains up Signal St. Go to the Pratt/Foothill Trailhead sign by the water tower. Turn left at the water tower and drive 0.2 miles to the trailhead parking area on the left.

Dogs are allowed on a leash.

The pace of the hike will be moderate, so please know your fitness level. I do not recommend this hike for beginners.

Check the weather. Rain and severe weather conditions like wind or fire cancels.

Wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring water, snacks, and a jacket.
