No newbies. Sign up only if you’re a regular leader with WWW. Participants are added from waitlist if they meet this criteria.

If you'd like to become a leader with this group, first post trailblazing hikes as described above on a Mon, Tues or Fri, Sat or Sun. Your hikes can be for women+men or women only--your choice! Click, "Schedule a Meetup" at top of the home page.

By signing up for this hike, you agree to lead 6-8 WWW hikes this year.

Ready to take this hiking gig up a notch? Then this is the perfect opportunity if you're a strong, intrepid hiker, willing to push the limits. Our adventures will suit you if you enjoy designing new routes, and are open to anything. We prefer taking the road less traveled. If there's a choice--take the trail we know the least, preferably one we don't know.

We all help with route finding as a team, and eventually we'll cover all trails in our hike areas.

So get a map, highlight a loop or out-and-back that you haven't done, then off we go. Let's explore, be courageous, have fun!

Trailblazing, Bushwacking, Exploratory: Leader's choice, anything possible, won't know until we get there. Be prepared for anything.

Terrain can include: single track, fireroad, steep/rocky/slippery/very brushy trails.

Don't sign up if you've been a "no show" at any Meetup. Directions will not be sent to newbies or "no shows."

Please, no guests. You must be signed up at Fun in the Sun Club Meetup, thereby agreeing to Meetup's Release of Liability (https://www.meetup.com/terms/).

Start Time: Arrive EARLIER. It's a good idea to aim for 7:45AM so if you get lost or there's traffic, you'll still be on time. We'll leave when everyone arrives and wait until 8:00AM at the latest. If you're lacing up your boots at 8:00AM, we'll be gone.

Meeting Place: Will be sent to participants by day before hike.

Estimated Stats: 8-12 miles, 1,500'-2,500'. We usually finish before 1:00PM.

Pace: 3mph moving average, 2.5mph overall average, sometimes considered a very brisk pace but it's all relative.

Bring: Easy to eat snacks (we take VERY short breaks--seldom more than 5 mins), plenty water (3L+ recommended), first aid kit, sunscreen, trekking poles if you like using them.

Wear: Layers, hat, sunglasses, your best lug soles.

Dogs: Sorry, no dogs for this one. Some areas don't allow them.

Leave nothing of value in your vehicle at any trailheadhttp://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/4/e/a/4/event_168020132.jpeg.

This is how filthy we get ... gives you an idea of the terrain we traverse.
