Morning Hike at Top of the World

If you've never hiked Top of the World, join us for a good workout, some great scenery and interesting trails as we will do a path that goes down to Dripping Cave and back up via Car Wreck (and yes you have to wonder how that car got there! )

It's only about 5 miles, but you will get a good workout going back up the hill. Let's take advantage of the still cooler weather in the mornings!

This hike begins in Laguna Beach at the top of the mountains at a place called top-of-the-world. There is a nice trailhead here with good parking, bathrooms and water.

Meet at the Picnic tables at the cul-de-sac end of Alta Laguna. If you park in the parking lot, walk out to the street and down to the cul-de-sac end of Alta Laguna Blvd.

We will visit 'Dripping Cave' an old hangout for stagecoach robbers.
and then climb out along the steep and rocky Car Wreck trail. There is a mysterious wrecked car up there we will pass on the climb out.

Wear hiking boots or shoes with good traction, a hat, sunscreen and take plenty of water. Hiking poles if you like for improved traction or to take the strain off your knees going downhill.

Directions:
In Laguna Beach turn inland on Park Ave from Pacific Coast Hwy. Follow until it ends at Alta Laguna Blvd. Turn left and go few hundred feet until dead end. We meet at the picnic tables at the cul-de-sac end of Alta Laguna Blvd. If you park in the parking lot walk out to the street and down to the cul-de-sac end of Alta Laguna Blvd. where you will see people around the picnic tables.
