About us
Our SUP group is a welcoming community for both beginners finding their balance and experienced paddlers looking for adventure. We explore some of Western North Carolina’s most beautiful waterways, including Lake James, Bear Lake, Lake Lure, Lake Julian, the French Broad River, and Lake Fontana. Whether you’re learning your first forward stroke or cruising confidently across open water, you’ll find encouragement, shared knowledge, and plenty of laughter along the way. We prioritize safety, fun, and connection — making every paddle an opportunity to grow your skills and enjoy the outdoors.
More than just a workout, our group is a social crew that loves building friendships around a shared love of stand-up paddleboarding. Dogs on boards are always welcome, and we often head to a local brewery afterwards. If you’re looking for fresh air, good company, and a supportive community on the water, we’d love to have you join us.

Tent Camping at Lake Jocassee at Devils Fork State Park
Devils Fork State Park, 161 Holcombe Cir, Salem, SC 29676,, Salem, NC, USJoin us for a camping trip with Paddle time! Paddle boarding on Lake Jocassee at Devils Fork State Park feels like gliding through a hidden mountain paradise. The water is so remarkably clear that you can often see deep into the lake beneath your board, revealing submerged rock formations and shifting shades of emerald and blue. As you paddle along the quiet coves, the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains rise steeply from the shoreline. Early mornings are especially magical.
We have reservations at the tent camping campgroud, which is a short walk from the parking lot. But this is not the type of campground you can drive your car up to your site. And I am pretty sure we can put in our boards right from the camping area. The cost is $40 total per person (paid to me) but totally worth it because this lake is quiet and unpopulated. Unlike Lake Keowee, which is busy with boats and homes.
Friday night we can informally come together for some social time. Saturday morning we can get out for a paddle after breakfast. And then another paddle in the afternoon and come together for dinner at the campsites Saturday evening.
I will need your payment via Venmo by April 17. Please direct message me for my Venmo. You can call the park for more information 1-866-345-7275.
