This evening we will have two talks about Nix, a declarative and reproducible build system and package manager.

After the talks, some of us will head up to a pub nearby to chat, do join us if interested.

## Adam Hose (@adisbladis): Derivations demystified - How Nix works under the hood

We'll take a dive into how Nix expressions translate into derivations and how they are turned into build results.

## Utku Demir: Optimising nixpkgs.dockerTools

During the talk, I will talk about the infrastructure for building Docker images using Nix. I will start by the story of a customer problem that led to a significant performance improvement, and end with my experience on contributing to a large open source codebase.
