What we're about

Funky Frets (http://www.funkyfrets.com) is the `ukulele home of Curt and Bernadette Sheller and their daughter Kelly. A true Mom and Pop or as our grandson TJ might say "Mom Mom and Pop-o" music store specializing in All Things Ukulele.

Curt has written and published over 30 books for `ukulele. Curt also maintains his personal, very popular web site LearningUkulule.com (http://www.learningukulele.com) with over 600 `ukulele lessons, 100 songs, links and resources to builders, luthiers, festivals, clubs, manufactures, fellow musicians and a lot more. Curt has performed and presented `ukulele workshops at various `ukulele festivals around the USA.

This meetup group will be for `ukulele get togethers, jams, workshops and concert announcements. As well as any great `ukulele related events we can host at the store.

We're looking forward to building a vibrant `ukulele community in this neck of the woods.

7th Annual Funky Fest Uke Fest

Trinity Church

TICKETS ON SALE NOW!

Our 7th Ukulele Festival will be in person this year and we are excited to see all our wonderful ukulele pals!

About this event:
Our 7th Ukulele Festival is around the corner and we are working on making it a "Roaring Good Time". The 20's may not have start off that great in the world, but we are making up for it in 2021! Everyone loved having a theme in 2019, so this year we are doing a Roaring 20's theme. New this year, instead of the ever popular Hawaiian Shirt contest we will be having a 1920's style Hat Contest!

This uke fest is a perfect opportunity to play and mingle with other like minded Uke enthusiasts. We have a wide selection of workshops that accommodate every level of playing, from first time picking up a Uke to advanced players and everyone in between. NO UKER LEFT BEHIND!

The weekend consists of concerts, an open mic, multiple jamming opportunities, vendors, the highly anticipated Jam on the Historic Train on the Colebrookedale Railroad and many other fun activities. Things for non ukulele players too. Our performers/workshop teachers are: Jim D'Ville, Christopher Davis-Shannon, Bill Wynne, Pete McCarty, Curt Sheller, The Aloha Boys (Glen, Isaac & Irv), UncleZac, Debi Velasco and Willian Ernestburg.
