Furvana is putting on this year's summer BBQ with the help and support of RAIn. We thank them for permission to do this event, and for the contribution of food for the grill.
Potluck Food Safety
Furvana and it’s staff members want to ensure everyone has a safe and healthy BBQ weekend. Rain is providing the meats, but the sides and other treats are being handled Pot Luck Style. While there is power at the pavilion we will not have access to refrigeration or cooking facilities other than the grill that will be used for the main course. Please plan what you bring accordingly. If you are bringing Items that need to be kept cool/cold, please plan a means for that. (Cooler/Ice etc) For hot items, such as dips, please bring in a crock pot or warming tray.
Per Washington Department of Health:
- Hot foods being served must be kept at a minimum of 140 degrees.
- Perishable items are not allowed to sit at room temperature for more than 2 hours, and must be thrown away.
Food Allergens
At the BBQ we will be asking everyone who brings a dish to write out a Food Card that includes the name of the dish and a list of ingredients and highlight anything that falls under these Major Food Allergens:
- Milk
- Eggs
- Fish (Bass, Flounder, Cod)
- Crustacean Shellfish (Crab, Lobster, Shrimp)
- Tree Nuts (Almonds, Walnuts, Pecans)
- Peanuts
- Wheat(including flour)
- Soybeans
