Exploring Scent + Sound with the creators of "Famous Deaths"

Details
Dutch designers Mark Meeuwenoord and Wander Eikelboom present the innovative applications and technologies developed in the Sense of Smell Project.
"Famous Deaths" installation recreates the final moments in the lives of celebrities through sound and scents. Positioned in one of four mortuary freezers visitors experience the events leading up to the deaths of J.F.K, Whitney Houston, Lady Di and Gaddafi in first person perspective.
"Famous Deaths" is part of a bigger research project called Sense of Smell in which teachers and students rethink and prototype the possibilities of scent for strategic communication, storytelling, interaction and media design.
Sense of Smell is ongoing and is currently developing prototypes for interactive installations, sensual experiences and immersive events. A scent printer developed within the project is used to create the sound/scent experience of "Famous Deaths."
Famous Deaths (http://www.famousdeaths.nl/) won the 2015 Art & Olfaction Award for experimental scent. More at: http://www.famousdeaths.nl/
This event is hosted in collaboration with the Austin Interactive Installation Meetup (https://www.meetup.com/Austin-Interactive-Installation-Meetup/)
