Castilian Spanish in Catalunya: Registration Deadline

This 4 week programme is for people who have already chosen to settle in or around Girona Costa Brava area and who want to consolidate their use of Spanish whilst living in Catalunya.

Having already invested some time learning how to speak Castilian Spanish (Castellano), you may now be gaining an appreciation of how it sits alongside Catalan history, customs, gastronomy and events.

This month-long, short and varied programme is designed to develop your conversational Spanish whilst furthering your knowledge and understanding of the region you live in.

Over 2 sessions per week you will;

• Move beyond studying the language to using it with relevance
• Build confidence through knowledge and understanding of the cultural background
• Stop slowing down and start speeding up - breaking through the language learning plateau!

Each small, peer-learning group of 3 to 5 people is curated to maximise the value of group interaction.

In addition to ongoing email support, information and resources, the 4 week programme includes:

• Weekly, Themed, Online Learning Session
• Weekly, Facilitated, Online Practice Session

... most importantly, as you participate in this programme with other people who share your experience of using Castilian Spanish in Catalunya, you will develop lasting connections with fellow students who often become valued friends. To support this social interaction we also organise in-person events at each participants own cost(covering food and drink). These social events include;

• Mid-programme, Cultural Activity
• End of programme Dinner

On registration, you will be contacted personally by course leader Montserrat Roser-i-Puig (former Associate Dean and Senior Lecturer in Hispanic Studies at University of Kent). Catalan herself, Montserrat will explore a little more about your current language experience and the cultural insight you already have to Catalunya. Based on peer-relatability, Montserrat will propose the best group for you to join - if programme dates suit you, your place will be secured with online payment at the discounted €249 fee as a Meetup Fusion group member.

Autumn Courses begin November 7th, with new course dates added when peer-groups reach capacity. Registration Deadline will close 4 November, with new programmes available in 2023.
