Lessons Learned: When a parent goes back to work

What is it like to transition from parental leave back into working life? How does becoming a parent impact your career?

Becoming a parent is a big life step, and the start of a great new journey, but it can also bring up new challenges to navigate in your career.

In the July Edition of Futura Talks we are joined by Katarzyna Kazimierczak-Mrowinska (Kasia for short), Solaris' Head of KYC Operations, who was one of 30 women selected for the Money 20/20 RiseUp Program out of 250 applicants.

Over the last 8 years, Kasia has specialised in fintech technology, strongly emphasising compliance, security and cutting-edge technologies (such as blockchain). But the last 8 years has not all been smooth sailing. As for the last 5 years, as well as growing her career Kasia has been raising twins, undergoing sleepless nights, and caring for them during the pandemic, without the support of grandparents (who are in Poland). So the effort “behind those eight years” is something that could be applicable to all of us, as we are all facing some challenges - and she is ready to share her hints and tips!

Katarzyna (or Kasia for short) is responsible for overseeing and managing KYC processes at Solaris. Kasia has over 15 years of experience in legal, financial, business development, and technology operational roles, and in the 8 years prior to joining Solaris, Kasia worked in reg-tech companies, specialising in regulatory markets with a strong emphasis on compliance and security, gaining extensive knowledge in the identity verification space, particularly in automated Know Your Customer (KYC) processes and compliance in fin-tech. Kasia’s contributions to the industry, coupled with her deep knowledge of regulatory requirements, have positioned her as a trusted expert in KYC. Kasia is committed to leveraging this expertise to drive compliance excellence, enhance customer experiences, and foster growth at Solaris.
