Boulder Future Salon Weeknight News Bits Discussion 1

Details
We're going to start our experiment with routine weeknight meetings to discuss current events -- on weeknights to differentiate from our Saturday meetings where we do a deep dive into 1 topic. This ideas is this won't require months of research on my part beforehand, or an outside speaker, so we can do short meetings on a more frequent basis.
The idea here is to discuss the latest and greatest news bits in AI or any other "future relevant" topic area -- AI seems to be generating the most but there is always news in cryptography, energy, geopolitics, and other areas related to "futurology". Any current news is open for discussion including the stuff I send out in my "news bits" emails, and anything you all bring that you want to talk about.
On this first meeting I went ahead and set up a Zoom link. We may or may not be experimenting with Jitsi as we have one member who has a problem with Zoom but I don't know what he's up to. Anyway we may have "technical difficulties" on this first meeting but rest assured we'll make this a regular thing and get the "technical difficulties" ironed out.
Oh, Meetup.com has a button "Generate description with AI". Should I push it?
"Join us at the Boulder Future Salon for an enlightening discussion on the integration of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in today's world. This event will delve into the potential advancements and challenges of these cutting-edge technologies, exploring topics such as the impact on society, the development of human-like robots, and the ethical considerations in AI and robotics."
"Our speakers will share their insights on the future landscape of these fields, drawing on the success of ChatGPT and the latest innovations in AI. Don't miss out on this opportunity to connect with experts, engage in thought-provoking conversations, and gain a deeper understanding of the implications and possibilities of AI and Robotics. Whether you are a technology enthusiast, a futurist, or simply curious about the future of these industries, this event is sure to inspire and educate."
Well, that sounds much more grandiose than what I wrote! Hopefully it's not entirely hallucination! Speakers? Just us!
See You There!
