American economic historian Claudia Goldin have just won Nobel economic prize for her work on women's employment and pay.

Goldin emphasized the prize was "important" but there are "still large" gender inequalities on the labour marker.

Most recent Swiss Earnings Structure Survey estimates the pay gap between men and women in private sector stands at 19.6%. It goes against the spirit of the Swiss Federal Act on Gender Equality.
