### 📅 Event Details
Date: 7th February
Time:
-
10:00 – 10:30 AM: Registration & settle down
-
10:30 - 11:00 AM : Talk 1 - Manoj Kumar Tiwari - LLM as cognitive engine
Desc: Large Language Models (LLMs) and Multimodal Language Models (MLLMs), including VLMs and VLAs, function as artificial cognitive engines, playing a role analogous to the human brain in intelligence. Just as biological cognition integrates perception, reasoning, and planning, modern AI agents computationally realize these same primitives at scale. This talk explores the deeper parallel between human cognition and agent architectures. Building agents is not about chasing a trend or assembling tools, it is about designing systems that emulate core cognitive functions such as perception, memory, reasoning, and decision-making. By grounding agent development in this biological–computational analogy, we gain clearer intuition, stronger design principles, and a more durable foundation for building intelligent systems. -
11:00 - 11:30 AM : Talk 2 - Yashraj Nayak -Code Your Community: Automating Engagement with AI and GitHub Actions
-
11:30 - 12:00 PM : Talk 3 - Rajesh Mishra - EEG to Embeddings: Expanding CLIP Beyond Vision and Text
Desc - This talk explores EEG as a first-class modality in multimodal AI systems, alongside vision and text. We discuss how EEG signals can be aligned with CLIP-style embedding spaces using contrastive learning, with an emphasis on model reusability and sound software engineering principles. The session covers key challenges in representation learning, architectural trade-offs, and practical constraints inherent to brain data. -
12:00 - 12:30 PM : Talk 4 - Kunal Das - Kubernetes for AI Workloads: Why Your Cluster Isn't Ready for ML
-
12:30 - 01:00 PM : Talk 5 - Prashant Bajpai - Learning at the Edge and Over Time: With Federated and Continual Learning
Desc - Modern machine learning assumes access to centralized, static datasets. But real-world systems increasingly violate both assumptions. Data is often distributed across devices due to privacy constraints, and it continuously evolves over time. This talk introduces Federated Learning and Continual Learning as two complementary paradigms designed to address these challenges. We will discuss why traditional training fails in such settings, how federated and continual learning work at a high level, and the key challenges that arise in practice. Such as communication overhead, data heterogeneity, catastrophic forgetting, and system failures.
