About the Speaker: Saiyam Pathak is the Principal Developer Advocate at Loft Labs and the founder of Kubesimplify, focused on simplifying cloud native and Kubernetes technologies. Previously at Civo, Walmart Labs, Oracle, and HP, he has worked extensively across machine learning platforms, Kubernetes scaling, multi cloud environments, and managed Kubernetes services. Saiyam is also a CNCF TAG Sustainability Lead, community organizer, YouTuber, and open source advocate.

Talk 2: Transitioning from traditional software engineering to AI engineering

Summary: In traditional SWE, you instruct the computer exactly what to do. Since LLMs are inherently unpredictable, in AI Engineering you manage an autonomous reasoning engine by setting boundaries (Guardrails), giving it access to the outside world (Tools/MCP), and heavily monitoring its decision-making process (Evals and Tracing). This talk covers the fundamentals of moving from Software Engineering to AI Engineering.

About the Speaker: Ruchika Suryawanshi is a Software Engineer at JPMorganChase and an active contributor to the open source ecosystem. She is passionate about cloud computing, AI, and developer tooling, and has spoken at events including FossAsia and DevConf India. She has also served as a Google Developer Student Club Lead and AI researcher.
About the Speaker: Hrittik Roy is a Platform Advocate at Loft Labs and a CNCF Ambassador with expertise in cloud native technologies and open source communities. He has contributed extensively to developer advocacy, technical writing, and community engagement. Hrittik has spoken at Kubernetes Community Days, Open Source Summits, and multiple cloud native conferences, and has also served on Program Committees for KubeCon and CloudNativeCon events.
