Walid Aoudi - Senior Manager - Cognizant

This presentation will present some Cognizant Big Data clients return on experiences on continental Europe and UK. The main focus will be centered on use cases through the presentation of the business drivers behind these projects. Key highlights around the big data architecture and approach solutions will be presented. Finally, the business outcomes in terms of ROI provided by the solutions implementations will be discussed.
Bio: Walid Aoudi is an outcome orientated Big Data Solution Architect & Data Scientist with a track record of successfully delivering innovative data driven solutions for global clients across multiple domains. Some of his key clients include Caceis, Manpower, Alstom and Inserm. He has an experience in technology enablement from POCs to Production deployments. He has a delivery experience in various roles in IT in a career spanning over 14 years. He holds an Engineering degree in Computer Science from ESCPE Lyon and a PhD in Signal and Image Processing from INSA Lyon.

Lessons learnt from running an enterprise data lake for 70 teams

In this presentation, we will share experiences and lessons learnt from running a data lake to support 70 teams. We will discuss topics such as automation, support, package management, orchestration as well as present some tools that can make your life easier.

BI on Hadoop: which tool for which use case?

BI on Hadoop is a hot topic currently. However, there's no one-size-fits-all solution. Like many other topics in Hadoop, there are several solutions for various use case. Hive, Hive LLAP, HBase/Phoenix, Druid, Spark SQL are all potential solutions with their own sweet spots. In this presentation, we will explore these options and provide best guidance to choose the right technology for several use cases. We will also do a live demo to show how you can use Druid to build OLAP cubes on HDP.
