Addressing Basic Psychological Needs to Build Resilient Teams
Details
(FS:R) Addressing Basic Psychological Needs to Build Resilient Teams - with Yulia Lenina
Session Overview
Resilience isn’t something we’re born with — it’s something we practice. This session explores how meeting three basic psychological needs — autonomy, competence, and relatedness — helps teams stay motivated, adaptable, and connected during change. Drawing on research and real stories from tech and partnerships, Yulia will share practical ways to create an environment where people feel empowered to take initiative, grow their skills, and build trust. Whether you’re a team lead or an individual contributor, you’ll leave with simple tools to strengthen both personal and collective resilience at work.
Alongside insights, the session includes short, hands-on activities that bring the theory to life and help you reflect on your own team’s resilience.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this session, participants will :
- Understand the three basic psychological needs that shape motivation and resilience.
- Reflect on which of their own needs are being met and how this affects their work and wellbeing.
- Turn these insights into simple, practical actions that support resilience and connection within their teams.
