DFW Italian Heritage & Food Festival

The metroplex's third annual Italian festival is coming soon - thought we'd try a weekend excursion to nearby Irving.
Also, the start time has changed - we can be there as early as 11 AM.
I attended last year and thoroughly enjoyed the food, wine and live music.
I'm posting the address listed on the official website, but it should be taking place at the Levy Event Plaza.
Bonus features: a gondola ride around the small lake next to the pavilion, kids activities & offers to join official DFW Italian groups.
So come out for pizza, pasta, wine, limoncello, all kinds of pastries - they even have Sfogliatelle, a Neapolitan delight! - and, of course, gelato... Maybe take a dive into the basics of la lingua piu bella del mondo, the most beautiful language in the world - free of charge.
Of course, if we have a large group that's like herding cats so there's no obligation for everyone to stay together; come and go as you please.
***For those who intend to be present at opening time, it's better to arrive before 11:00 if you want to make a day of it - traffic last year was fairly backed up trying to get into the parking garage next to the pavilion.

There is a special dinner being held at 7 - the usual multi-course offering: an appetizer, 2 entrees and a dessert, with 1 glass of wine (bottles available as well).
A documentary on the Palio, the short but frenetic biannual horse race in Siena's Piazza del Campo, will be shown during the dinner. Since the preparations for that event include a colossal feast for every neighborhood in the city, this will be a little something to mimic that occasion.
