Indian Rock offers short climbs on the west face up to 25' high and medium length climbs on the east face up to 60' high, with some routes bolted for sport, and all routes can be top roped. The rock is sandstone and features climbing on pockets, crimps and slopers that often feature... sandy holds!

Parking
Parking in the main CRSP lot is $10 unless you have a California State Parks Pass. Can park free on Skyline shoulder just south of old parking lot (across from Indian Rock trailhead) if you arrive early enough. Free WiFi and water and flush bathrooms by the ranger and bathroom building in the new parking lot; vault toilet (but no water) in the old parking lot.

What to bring?

Be sure to bring harness, shoes, belay device (ATC or Grigri), helmet,

Snacks/lunch, at least 1.5L of water.

The rock is shaded so sun protection is optional

mosquito protection may be needed.

Need between 3 to 4 ropes anchor building gear (as quickdraws (1 5.7, 1 5.10a, 1 5.11).

You understand that this is not a guided trip and neither nor any of the other organizers or participants are a guide, Wilderness EMT or Wilderness First Responder.

Meet 8:30am at the CRSP main parking entrance. if you are not there by 8:45am meet us at Indian Rock crag.

If Castle Rock climbing school is teaching a class, we need to be quiet. mindful of our climbing gear and physical space around them.
