Google has been using a single general-purpose RPC infrastructure called Stubby to connect the large number of microservices running within our data centers for over a decade. gRPC represents the evolution of Stubby through collaboration with other industry leaders and a vibrant open source community. It is now being used for microservices as well as connecting internet clients (browsers, mobile apps) to services inside and outside Google.
This meetup is focused on the growing community of technologies, applications and users developing around gRPC. We have two types of meetings:
• a biweekly online meeting where we share project updates, demos, and assist with questions or blockers.
• monthly(ish!) meetings that feature a guest speaker and technical deep dive. These meetings are held locally in the Bay Area and are open to attend in person. We also stream these meetings as they happen via Google Hangouts.
Join us for gRPConf 2020! This year it will be held alongside the OSS Summit North America. Get the full details on the event here at https://events.linuxfoundation.org/grpc-conf/
CFP is open now until March 13, and registration for the event opens soon!
We encourage you to RSVP here to make it easy for us to coordinate social meetups; but remember you will need to officially register to attend the conference via the Linux Foundation event site.
