**Talk 1: Anders Berg (Ekkono Solutions)**

*Using machine learning for Predictive Maintenance: “How I learnt to be unique instead of trying to find faults”*

*Abstract:*
Predictive maintenance plays a crucial role in enhancing the productivity, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability of industrial devices. In today’s global market, product companies face diverse conditions and applications for their products. What’s normal for one may be an anomaly for another.
To address these challenges, Ekkono has developed a custom machine learning library that can be deployed on even the smallest devices. Moreover, we enable training on all devices.
Join us as we delve into the challenges of incremental learning on tiny microcontrollers and explore the remarkable benefits it brings for various use cases, including predictive maintenance.

*Bio:*
Anders is an embedded systems engineer with 20 years of experience designing solutions for the telecom, medical, and industrial automation sectors. For the past seven years, he has focused on developing custom machine learning solutions at Ekkono Solutions, where he leads the development department as Director of Engineering.

We’ll explore the unique challenges and solutions of running image-based object detection on a resource-constrained embedded chip, examining what sets embedded AI apart from other types of AI. Lessons learned, discuss hardware and software trade-offs, and highlight the crucial factors for successful on-device intelligence.

*Bio:*
Gustav brings over 20 years of experience in embedded software development, working across a diverse range of industries and technologies. Currently serving as a senior consultant at Vinnter AB. Outside of work, Gustav enjoys diving into creative projects, whether it's tinkering with electronics, exploring new technologies, or building unique prototypes.
