Late-winter walk through the Morrisburg wetlands and sanctuary trails. Expect classic overwintering residents: black-capped chickadees (they’ll feed from your hand if you stand still with sunflower seeds), blue jays, northern cardinals, juncos, woodpeckers, and possibly bald eagles or early red-winged blackbirds near open water. True spring migrants (warblers, shorebirds) are still a few weeks out—February 28 is still deep winter in eastern Ontario, so dress for cold and snow.

> What to bring:
>
> * Warm layers, waterproof snow boots (not shoes—snow and slush likely)
> * Binoculars, field guide (optional)
> * Sunflower seeds or peanuts for chickadee hand-feeding
> * Hot drink in a thermos, snacks
> * Any mobility aids if needed (trails can be packed snow or uneven)

> Meet in the main parking lot near the interpretive centre. Carpool suggestions welcome—reply if you need or can offer a ride. Looking forward to sharing the quiet winter beauty with you. Questions? Message me directly.

> See you there
