March Sunday Assembly + potluck
Details
The March Assembly is coming up on Sunday 3/15 at 11:00am. We will be meeting in-person at the Pride Center at 3850 NW 83rd Street, Suite 201. The ground floor of the building is a dialysis center; we're on the 2nd floor; stairway on the left side, elevator on the right.
Our guest speaker is documentary filmmaker Bridget Fitzgerald. Bridget was a social worker prior to returning to graduate school for documentary film. She sees filmmaking as a creative outgrowth of her commitment to working for a more just, compassionate, and sustainable world.
She will be presenting ALCHEMY, her award-winning documentary short film. It's the story of a glassblower who navigates her grief at the loss of her brother from ALS to create a glass studio for youth. After the screening, she will take questions from the assembly.
We host a potluck lunch following the Assembly! There is a refrigerator if you bring something that needs to be kept cold. And there is a microwave for heating your yummy up. Please write a note saying what your offering is and if it includes gluten, tree nuts, peanuts, soy, etc. and if it is vegetarian or vegan.
As usual, in addition to our terrific guest speaker we will have songs performed by our in-house band, a poem or short reading, and an opportunity to share personal & community announcements.
Sunday Assembly is a non-sectarian humanist group. All are welcome regardless of religious belief or lack thereof. Our Assembly is not about any god; it's about celebrating life and being the best we can be. The Assembly is free to attend; we "pass the hat" for donations.
We ask that you only attend in-person if you are not experiencing any symptoms of Covid or any other potentially contagious disease. We love sharing, but that's going too far! We will stream this Assembly at this link:
