Gainesville LGBTQ+ hikers

What’s up everybody I’m Nic. I’m really outgoing and a great listener so don’t feel awkward joining. I’d love this to become an ongoing group for our Gainesville and Flowery Branch rainbow hiking family (all other areas welcome too.)

I’d like us to eventually hike back country trails and even get to a point of overnight hike/camping trips together, and that’s safer to do with as a group. (bears, accidents etc.). Let’s start easy and meet up at 9am AT Mount Yonah parking lot. The hike takes about 2 hours total but I’m giving the hike 2.5 hours for socializing etc. Yonah is a moderately difficult hike being that it’s a straight up and down. NO worries if you aren’t an advanced hiker, we will hike together or break off if others have a different pace. As this is for our community to make friends I’ll personally go at a pace the majority is comfortable with. LGBTQ+ / spouses and allies welcome and encouraged.
I recommend trecking poles, sturdy hiking boots or sneakers as well as snacks and plenty of water.
Let’s grab lunch at the nearby winery or a cool place close by after.
