Some people only live in Gainesville while going to college. Some people have deep roots in the community. Join us to help make Gainesville a better place to call home while you are here. This is a positive space to support each other, support our community and dream big. While I hope we bring up community issues, this is not a space for complaining. It’s a place to brainstorm solutions to help our community.

September is Suicide Prevention Month. Let’s build a care package for a neighbor or sister or friend or partner. You are encouraged to build your own care package for someone you know who could use a dose of happiness. I’ll provide thank you cards for you to include. I’ll update or comment on the event as I collect items. I have a sticker with a QR code to a local therapy group that offers group therapy and free and low-cost community focused classes that you can include - it’s the photo I used for this event. I will also work on some “Welcome to Gainesville” packages and welcome ideas on how to make them better to be distributed at Pride Festival on Oct. 3.

I’m suggesting an optional $10 donation for attending to help fund future events.

Please note there is a free outdoor yoga class from 9-10 am on Sundays at Curia on the Drag. You may consider going to that event first and joining this event for the last 30 minutes.
