Spend a fun day of getting our steps in while apple picking then enjoying lunch!

As the vibrant colors of autumn begin to paint the landscape, let’s spend some time outside! It's the perfect opportunity to embrace the season's beauty while enjoying each other's company. Let’s go midweek and change up our monthly lunch routine and avoid the large weekend crowds at the Apple orchards.

We'll start our adventure by wandering through one of Melnick’s farms picturesque apple orchards, handpicking the juiciest apples straight from the trees. We’ll get our steps in as we wander. The farm is perfect for us- small, easily navigated while offering the full apple picking experience.

There’s a number of varieties grown. Weather decides when things are ready to be picked but the orchards have Honeycrisp, Cortland, Macoun, Jonagold, Red/Golden Delicious and Empire apples. You can also pick up pumpkins, cider donuts, they also produce fresh, premium, unfiltered apple cider at their onsite cider mill made from 100% apples grown right on their farm or you can wait until we go to the full farm stand.

Attire: Outdoor clothing and footwear for the orchard adventure (sneakers). Suggestion: bring a change of shoes for the restaurant just in case it is muddy in places.

Things to know: Admission is $3.99. Apples are charged separately (not included in the admission). Apples cost $2.39 per lb. when buying under 10 lbs total: or $1.99 per lb if total is over 10 lbs.

We'll pay admission at the tented farm stand - next to the parking lot walk towards the buildings. The orchard is also next to the parking lot so after we pay and collect our apple picking bags we can walk right into the grove. We'll pick our apples, pay for them and then we're onto a their full farm stand where they sell flowers, hard cider, fruits and vegetables, baked goods, etc.

The crisp air and the aroma of ripe apples will open our taste buds for lunch! We’ll go for a well-deserved lunch at Stoney Brook Grille: 1285 Route aka Easton Turnpike, North Branch, NJ 08876. It’s an easy ride, approx. 10-15 minutes from the orchard.
