Galway Flag American Football (non contact and open to all)

Flag American Football is played 5 aside and is non contact, unisex and open to all (18 plus). We are restarting the Galway Warriors and entering the league of Ireland as a team for 2026.
It’s a very fun game based on American Football rules and played on a 50m by 25m pitch. Think an athletic version of chess on grass! The goal is to outfox the opponent with planned moves to get past them and score a touchdown.
A ‘Tackle’ is completed by pulling a flag from the waist of a player.
Flag football is also a new Olympic Sport and the best male and female Flag players in the country will one day have the opportunity to trial for the Irish Wolfhounds national team.
