Sports Tech - Next Frontier in Athlete Performance and Safety & Starting Up in Ireland

The sports and fitness industries have recently been embracing many of the developments of the commercialisation of technology that was previously limited to research or big industry: from IMU sensors to computer vision. Coaches and athletes are onboarding these tools to enhance performance, reduce risk of injury and stay ahead of their competitors. In this talk, we will be exploring some of the technologies that teams are onboarding, from junior up to senior professional. Computer vision will be a key focus as Precision Sports Technology's product area. Precision Sports Technology are developing software utilising LiDAR hardware to provide real-time feedback and analysis on exercise technique for strength & conditioning, home training and physiotherapy. The talk will also cover first steps for start-ups in Ireland and the options for founders considering leaving their role with a multinational company to embark on an exciting new journey!
