ðDarkness into Light (D.I.L.) is Pieta Houseâs flagship fundraising event, a sponsored annual walk, held at locations around the World, sharing the light in raising funds and to raise awareness of the services offered at Pieta House.ð»Pieta House provides a one to one professional Counselling Programme for people who are suicidal, self-harming or have been bereaved by suicide.

ðâ³ïž WHAT TO BRING! â³ïžð
ð¶Yourself! Comfortable Foot-wear / Running-shoes. Energy! Water.
ð¶Check the Weather-Forecast in your Location before the Event so you are fully-prepared, and to determine what to wear, and dress warmly with Layers / Wet Gear - Waterproof Jacket / Hat, Scarf, and Gloves.
ð¶Bring a Torch / small portable Light.ðâ³ïž HAVE FUN! â³ïžð
ð¶Runners will be allowed start first, followed shortly by the Walkers.
ð¹It normally takes about 25 minutes for a Runner to complete the circuit.
ð¶Most Walkers will walk the circuit in approx. an hour. However people are encouraged to walk it in their own time.
ð¶This Event is NOT a race!
ð¹It is to be enjoyed and completed at your own pace.

ðDarkness into Light is vital for Fundraising, raising awareness, and for bringing people together, as we do everything we can to bring about a Suicide-free World.ðThis is the thirteenth year of Darkness Into Light in Galway City, and it just keeps getting better and better! Money raised through D.I.L. helps keep Pieta House's lifesaving Counselling Services free, and helps broaden their services. People sharing the light helps us to promote Suicide prevention, and to tackle the stigma that leads people to the doors of Pieta House Centres.
ð¡Pieta offers free counselling to those suffering from Suicidal ideation, those who have been bereaved by Suicide, and people who are engaging in self-harm. Staff are fully-qualified and provide a professional one-to-one therapeutic service.
