Join Devhouse’s software engineer, Jacob Maxwell, for a one-hour class on Multiplayer Networking in Unreal Engine 5!
Jacob will start with a ~15 minute top-level explanation of the server/client models for multiplayer, followed by a ~30 minute demo to show best practices in action. The session will demystify “replication”, Unreal Engine’s terminology for how data is passed around, and, time permitting, Jacob will also touch on the differences between “authority” and “ownership.”
