The Summer Jam is back!
Win £200! Only 35 spaces available at a Secret Location in MK, which will be given to the participants before hand.
After a hiatus due to the pandemic, we're so excited to be reinstating the GameDev:MK's twice yearly game jam.
This time round, it will be taking place it a real life game development studio! For security reasons the address will be sent to attendees post-registration, but it is in centre MK.
We'll be spending the weekend trying to create the greatest masterpiece possible! Come as a solo, a team, or find people to work with on the day. Anything goes!
Order of events will be as follows:
Saturday, 9am: Arrive at venue and meet & greet. We'll go through all the announcements and safety information that needs to be distilled and recap the agenda for the weekend.
10am: Announce the theme, gather team names and start jamming!
9pm: Leave the studio, you're free to carry on dev-ing at home if you wish.
Sunday, 10am: Arrive back at the venue and kick things back off again.
6pm: Submission deadline! All games must be submitted and playable builds available from Itch.io. At this point the review panel will playtest all the games while the participants spend some time mingling in the kitchen area eating some grub.
7pm: Showcase. Each team gets the opportunity to present their masterpiece and talk through their thinking and their approach.
8pm: Winners announced. Tidy up, close down and head home.
There will be a number of categories of judging such as:
- Best Game
- Best Visual Direction
- Best Audio
- Most Technically Impressive
- Most Original Concept
Due to the available desks, spaces are limited so don't delay! For simplicity, there will not be an option to attend remotely.
