At our events GameMaker developers/users/hobbyists can come together to learn more about the game engine, share their insights/experiences, showcase games and collaborate on new projects.
Our meetups are open to all irrespective of skill level, there will be talks and discussions catered for all and everyone will have an opportunity to share what they are building.

Details
October 24th - 26th 2025 | 6pm - 6pm EDT | Gumbo, New YorkGameMaker, Gumbo NYC, and Shattered Journal Games are teaming up to host another game jam at Gumbo. The jam will run for 48 hours from October 24th 6pm to October 26th 6pm.
The Grand Prize?? A Game Maker enterprise license for 12 months ($800 value).
Friday Oct 24
6PM kickoff - GameMaker presentation, team formation / networking, food, drinks, music
7PM - theme reveal
↓
Snacks + caffeine available in the space throughout the jam period
↓
Sunday Oct 26
7PM closing ceremonies and game presentations
Grand Prize to be awarded the week following----------------------------------------------------
1. At least one person from your team must RSVP to and attend this Meetup event in order to sign up to work at the Gumbo office during the jam.
2. Sign up for the jam on itch.io (https://itch.io/jam/gumbo-x-gamemaker-game-jam-2025) (if you can't come to the event, that's ok! you can still participate in the jam)

Jam Rules
- Maximum four team members. At least one team member must attend the jam at some point to be eligible for the prize.
- Participants must use GameMaker as their game engine.
- No AI content.
Participants may work at the Gumbo office Saturday 10/25 and Sunday 10/26 10am-7pm. If you want to work at the Gumbo office for the jam, at least one of your team members must attend the opening ceremony and sign up for space. We will prioritize teams of more than one person but will have space for teams of one as well. Space is limited!

All participants in Gumbo events must treat one another with respect. We have a zero-tolerance policy for bigotry or any comments meant to dehumanize, alienate or otherwise hurt Gumbo members, their guests, or anyone in the wider Gumbo community. Be cool or hit the bricks.
