What we’re about

Games in the Park

Hi, I’m Louise 👋 I’ve worked in entertainment for over ten years, from cruise ships to the circus, hosting kids’ parties, painting faces, hula-hooping, and running game shows. My favourite part? Always seeing adults secretly loving it just as much as the kids.

So, I’ve started Games in the Park – a chance for adults to come together once a month, run around like kids again, laugh until our cheeks hurt and just play! No pressure, no awkward small talk, no “so, what do you do for work?” just pure connection, fun, and silliness!

Think of all the games you loved as a kid - Duck Duck Goose, egg and spoon races, sack races, hot potato, even face painting, with all the wit and skills of an adult! Add in some improv games (Whose Line Is It Anyway–style), silly scavenger hunts, and maybe a round of “the floor is lava” while exploring Brisbane or the Gold Coast.

Rainy day? No worries, we will swap to indoor fun like bowling, arcade games, mini golf etc..

Basically, it’s a kids’ party but for grown-ups! So if you’re ready to bring back the sense of play you felt when you were little - come join us!

When & Where
• Gold Coast - 1st Saturday of every month, Macintosh Island Park
• Brisbane - 3rd Saturday of every month, Roma st Parklands
• $10 to cover the basics (+ extra for indoor activities).
• Outdoor meetups (with indoor/rainy day alternatives).

And if you want to hang out afterwards, stay for a picnic in the park, BYO plate to share.

Why Join?
• It’s way more fun (and way less pressure) than a coffee date or a beer.
• You get to connect with people in a playful, lighthearted way.
• It’s something different, a break from trivia nights and pub catch-ups.
• You’ll leave feeling energised, laughing, and maybe even a little nostalgic.

The fine print: If you RSVP for an event and can no longer make it, please update with at least 2 hours' notice. Those who no-show 3 times without updating will be removed from the group (if you have extenuating circumstances or medical things that makes life unpredictable for you that's no problem, please just let me know, I don't need the details just a heads up).

This is an inclusive group welcome of all people from all backgrounds. There is a zero tolerance policy in this group towards racism, ableism, fatphobia, homophobia, transphobia and any other kind of discrimination or hate. We are all learning but anyone displaying these behaviors or attitudes repeatedly or making others feel unsafe will be removed from the group.
