How to Overcome the Fear of Approaching People?

Details

For a few months I organized Cold Approach meetings on Meetup which is about approaching strangers.
Approaching and talking to people this way is probably the most efficient way to learn social skills. Period.

Cold approaching causes that every day you can have many opportunities to train certain social skills (verbal/nonverbal). Progress can be spectacular if you are able to do it consistently.

The problem is that it's super difficult to stay consistent provided how stressful this activity is.

For one year I looked and tested different gamification strategies to make faster advancement in this topic. One of the difficulties is that the biggest blocker is fear - and this fear has different faces for each person. Being able to tackle this fear is the most important thing to understand.

During this meeting I would like to explore:

  • What fears prevent people from approaching?
  • What jobs increase the probability of success (e.g. working in sales)?
  • What activities have the probability of success (e.g. meditation/sport)?
  • What experiences increase the probability of success (e.g. having a super positive response from some previous approach)?
  • How other people influence the probability of success?
  • How books/courses influence the probability of success?
  • What systems work best to approach consistently?

As a result I plan to create various experimental games with the intention to help people to overcome anxiety.

I run an online Gamifying Life community on Skool. The community is about using various game techniques in real life (and one important part is to gamify gaining social skills).
You can join for free (free lifetime membership) if you will do it before the end of January.
