Love Mario Kart or curious to try it out? This meetup welcomes everyone — from total beginners to seasoned racers. Come enjoy a relaxed and friendly Mario Kart 8 Deluxe session. No experience or equipment needed — just show up and play!

What’s Happening:

Brief intro for new players (controls, items, and game modes)

Free play with group races and battle modes

Chill, social atmosphere to meet and play with others

Why Join:

Open to all skill levels

No pressure

Great way to learn, race, and have fun with fellow fans

What to Bring:
Nothing! All equipment will be provided.

Hey racers! 👋 Welcome to our Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Tournament! We’re excited to have you here for a fun-filled, action-packed 3 hours of karting, competition, and great vibes. Also, once I get a hold of enough Switch 2s, be prepared to play Mario Kart World Tournament!
Before we hit the gas, here are a few important details:

### 💴 Entry Fee & Check-In

• ¥1000 per player(¥500 yen if you can bring a switch with mario kart, more details below)
• Please pay Joseph when you check-in the venue.
• The fee helps cover venue costs, equipment, and prizes. Thanks for your support!

### 🎮 Equipment Reminder – We Need 3 Switches

To keep things smooth, we only need 3 Nintendo Switch consoles with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe installed(complete DLC recommended).
If you’re able to bring one, please let Joseph know at check-in:
✅ Make sure it’s fully charged and bring a charger if possible.
✅ Pro controllers are a big help too!
✅ If you can bring one, only pay ¥500.
✅ Only 3 consoles are needed to keep things moving, so don’t worry if you don’t have one to bring.
✅ I don't have other switches because this meetup is gearing up for a Mario Kart World(and other Switch 2 games) meetup!!!

### 🧭 3-Hour Event Schedule

Hour 1 – Warm-Up & Qualifiers

• Players will be split into heats of 3–4 players
• Each heat will race 8 races in a Grand Prix format
• Everyone gets multiple chances to race and accumulate points

Hour 2 – Knockouts & Semifinals

• Top players advance to the elimination rounds
• Non-finalists can join free play, Battle Mode, or side matches

Hour 3 – Championship & Free Play

• The Final 4 players compete in the Championship Grand Prix
• After the finals: casual racing, team battles, or fun challenges

### 🔁 Flexible Format Based on Turnout

• 16+ players: Group stage → Quarterfinals → Semifinals → Finals
• 8–15 players: Rotating heats → Semifinals → Finals
• <8 players: Point-based rounds → Top 4 Finals

### ⚙️ Race Rules

• 150cc, All items ON, No CPUs
• 8 races per set (Grand Prix format)
• Tracks: Random or group vote
• Controller sharing allowed — bring your own if you have one!

### 🏆 Prizes

• 🥇 Tournament Champion – Winner of the final Grand Prix
• 🎁 Additional prizes may be awarded based on participation and fun side events

Just picked up a Nintendo Switch 2 and want to experience Wireless Play(or LAN, if announced) with real people? Let's play Mario Kart World! This event is all about connecting, racing, battling, and having fun — face-to-face!

### 🔗 What We’re Doing:

• Meet other Switch 2 players — Japanese and International versions welcome(tell us what region you have so we'll prioritize which region has more)
• Play different modes of Mario Kart World
• Enjoy a chill afternoon of gaming with real people

### 🎮 What to Bring:

• Your Nintendo Switch 2 (any region). In the future, if I managed to buy enough Switch 2s, no need to bring anything and everyone can join freely.
• Mario Kart World game
• Charger & accessories
• Note: We’ll have monitors and Pro Controllers available. Just bring your console and games!
• For people who doesn't have Switch 2s, a slot will be opened if someone that has a Switch 2 doesn't have a guest coming as well.

1. Contact Joseph to reserve your spot (up to 16 players)
2. Bring your Switch 2 — we need up to 8 consoles total for wireless play(or LAN if announced)
3. Pay the fee when you enter the venue
4. Set up, sync up, and start playing!
