| Description:Tour Eagle Rock Meadow with our naturalists and see late spring flowers and meadow grasses! You will be dazzled by the clusters of creamy yellow golden Alexanders and golden ragwort, mounds of soft blue Arkansas bluestars, flowering rushes, and colorful native irises.
What is the Meadow?Planted in 2014 by the Master Gardeners of Essex County, the Meadow was gradually overtaken by invasive plants, especially mugwort and phragmites. In 2024, our Essex Chapter partnered with the
Master Gardeners to refurbish it: creating walking paths, removing invasives, and planting new native plants. The project is ongoing with a dedicated group of volunteers working regularly.
We will be walking on a path of wood chips; long pants and comfortable shoes are recommended.
Kids welcome; please leave dogs at home.
Directions:Follow directions to“Eagle Rock Meadow”on Google Maps. The Meadow is located within a black fence, across the road from the 9/11 Memorial at Eagle Rock Reservation, where there is parking.
