LINDA RONSTADT: The Sound of My Voice (2 screenings - 4 & 7 pm)

Before the advent of MTV, the Internet, social media and influencers, Linda Ronstadt was well on her way to selling over 100 million albums. Linda did it her way – her extraordinary vocal range and refusal to compromise with the male-dominated music industry brought us unforgettable songs spanning diverse genres - rock, folk, pop, country-rock, American standards, Mexican ranchera, R&B, Afro-Cuban and jazz.

In The Sound of My Voice, Linda performs 34 of her songs, mainly solo, but also with friends including Emmylou Harris, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Dolly Parton, Don Henley and Aaron Neville.

On-screen at the beginning and end of the film, and via voice-over throughout, Ronstadt’s active participation makes the film highly personal as we learn about her family, musical roots, her ups and downs, thoughts on aging, death and the importance of music in her life.
