OSCAR WATCH! "Lady Bird"

MOVIE: Happy 2018! Our Oscar Watch series kicks off this Sunday with "LADY BIRD," fresh off Golden Globe wins. The coming of age story is garnering acclaim for indie veteran actress Greta Gerwig, who is making her solo feature length debut as writer/director, and for stars Saoirse Ronan ("Brooklyn") and Laurie Metcalf.

WHEN/WHERE: Check in with me at 4:35p at the Hillcrest Landmark Theater, by the theater LOBBY STAIRS. Purchase your ticket ($13) at the BOX OFFICE for the 4:55p show of "Lady Bird." We'll head into the theater by 4:45p, so please be on time.

PARKING: If you can find it, Sunday street parking is free. Alternatively, you can park in the lot underneath the theater mall, and get your parking stub validated for 3 hours when you purchase your movie ticket. The parking lot entrance is on the east side of 5th Ave. Keep in mind our discussion might push us past the 3 hour time window.

AFTERWARDS: We'll head over to Wine Lover (https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-wine-lover-san-diego) across the street to enjoy drinks and post movie discussion.
