Welcome to the "Gaston Go-Getters!" We are entering our 3rd year of exploring Gaston County and surrounding areas. We are a welcoming group and accept members no matter their age or orientation. You are never too old to become a "Go-Getter!"
And...we have a 2nd group called "Wine & Friends - The Grapesmith Society." This group will focus more on meeting up to sip and talk about wine. Check us out!
There are a couple of very simple requirements for both groups...and yes, they ARE requirements.
1. You must post a recognizable photo of yourself on your profile before you attend your first event with us. Not your children, not your pets, not a photo of your tattoos! I need to recognize you when you walk in the door.
2. I'm looking for an active group of folks who want to attend outings and support local businesses. Going forward, you will need to interact with our Meetup page at least once every six months. That does not mean that you must attend an event...you just have to visit our page and see what's going on.
3. If you RSVP, show up! If you must cancel, change your RSVP no later than 24 hours before the event. Three no-shows (or last minute changes) and you will be removed from the group. Emergencies happen and will be taken into consideration.
You are not required, but you are encouraged, to purchase food or drink from establishments that we visit. Thank you for wanting to support "local!"
And then...there is the optional "opportunity" to financially support the "Go-Getters." Moving forward, new members will receive a link to the Venmo account of the organizer. If you are so inclined, please make a donation to help offset the fees associated with Meetup.

The Wandering Cup in Gastonia for Coffee and a little morning socializing
The Wandering Cup, 121 W Main Avenue, Gastonia, NC, USI know it is a bit short notice, but let's meetup, grab a morning time beverage, and enjoy a good chat amongst friends at the Wandering Cup in Downtown Gastonia. There is a full espresso and coffee menu available, as well as teas, matcha, and hot chocolates.They also have a small selection of sweet treats available, including muffins, cookies, and scones.
You are more than welcome to bring a guest along - just add your +1 when RSVPing. It is a small space with limited seating, so please try to keep up with your RSVPs and avoid any last minute cancellations.
This location is tucked inside the Alchemy Coworking space, so don't worry - your GPS is not lying to you. There is a cute little seating area upstairs - just look for our group's sign! Parking downtown can sometimes be a little slapdash, but there are loads of free lots throughout the area, a parking garage by the convention center, and even street parking.
