"Read Between the Wines" Book Club at Elena's

The June Meetup of "Reading Between the Wines" will be on Monday, June 23. We will meet again at Elena's Argentinian Restaurant in downtown Gastonia. The restaurant serves Argentinian pizzas and dessert pastries as well as empanadas and sandwiches. Beverages include a variety of coffee drinks and smoothies.

Our book topic for June is "graphic novels." No...these are not comic books. Many graphic novels center around events from history or someone's memoir. Examples: "Drowned City" about Hurricane Katrina and New Orleans or the "March" trilogy which focuses on the life of the late John Lewis.

Last month, our members chose books around the topic of "springing into spring." Check out the featured photo to see the books that were discussed. The book topic for July will be "a book set in a state that you have not visited." Vacation possibility???
