"Lunch at Dallas Tavern and Taphouse" / " Museum of Art & History" - Dallas

It's been a long time since we visited Dallas. We will have lunch at a local restaurant then visit the Gaston County Museum of Art & History. The museum will be unveiling a mixed media exhibit by artist Nellie Ashford and hosting a reception on Saturday, August 2, from 1 - 3 pm.

Here is what the museum says about Nellie Ashford and the exhibit: "Drawing from vivid memories of her childhood in rural, segregated Charlotte, NC during the Jim Crow era, Ashford weaves colorful narratives using fabric and found objects from her youth. Her work is a profound exploration of memory, culture, and resilience - each piece a masterful blend of expression and personal history."

Let's meet at noon for lunch at "Dallas Tavern and Taphouse"...it used to be called "Sammy's." We will have lunch and socialize then walk across the courthouse square to the museum. Great way to spend a Saturday afternoon and also support a couple of local businesses.
