### Spoonfuls of Sunshine: A Mediterranean Soup Adventure

Join us for an exquisite evening of soups at my residence in Lakewood on Souper Tuesday, June 3, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This exclusive event is open to the first 18 ticket holders.

Please bring your own beverage to complement your meal. Whether you prefer soda, beer, wine, or a cocktail, the choice is yours. I will provide refreshing lemon water and cucumber mint tea for additional enjoyment.

### Course 1: Refreshing Chilled Soup

  • Name: Gazpacho Andaluz with Cucumber & Mint
  • Description: A classic chilled Spanish soup featuring the robust flavors of ripe tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumber, garlic, and a touch of sherry vinegar, enhanced with fresh mint.
  • Seasonal Highlight: Tomatoes, Cucumber, Mint
  • Garnish: Diced cucumber, a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, and a sprig of fresh mint.
  • Wine Pairing: A crisp Sauvignon Blanc would complement the freshness of the gazpacho.

### Course 2: Light & Herbaceous Broth

  • Name: Avgolemono with Summer Greens
  • Description: A traditional Greek lemon-egg soup, refined for the season with the addition of finely chopped seasonal greens such as baby spinach or arugula. The tangy lemon and creamy egg offer a harmonious balance.
  • Seasonal Highlight: Baby Spinach/Arugula, Lemon
  • Garnish: Fresh dill sprig and a sprinkle of black pepper.
  • Wine Pairing: A light, unoaked Chardonnay would enhance the lemony notes of the soup.

### Course 3: Hearty Vegetable & Grain Soup

  • Name: Tuscan White Bean & Zucchini Soup with Basil Pesto Swirl
  • Description: A comforting yet vibrant soup featuring cannellini beans, diced zucchini, carrots, and celery in a flavorful vegetable broth. A swirl of fresh basil pesto adds a burst of herbaceousness.
  • Seasonal Highlight: Zucchini, Basil
  • Garnish: A spoonful of homemade basil pesto and a drizzle of quality olive oil.
  • Wine Pairing: A medium-bodied Pinot Grigio will pair beautifully with the vegetable flavors.

### Course 4: Flavorful Seafood Soup

  • Name: Aegean Tomato & Shrimp Soup with Feta Crumbles
  • Description: A fragrant soup inspired by the Greek islands, featuring succulent shrimp simmered in a rich tomato-based broth with onions, garlic, and a touch of oregano. Crumbled feta cheese provides a salty and creamy counterpoint.
  • Seasonal Highlight: Tomatoes, Oregano
  • Garnish: Crumbled feta cheese and a sprinkle of fresh parsley.
  • Wine Pairing: A dry Rosé will enhance the flavors of the seafood and tomatoes.

  • Name: Chilled Watermelon & Mint Soup with Pistachios
  • Description: A refreshing and unexpected chilled soup featuring sweet blended watermelon, a hint of lime, and fresh mint. Toasted pistachios provide a delightful crunch and nutty flavor.
  • Seasonal Highlight: Watermelon, Mint
  • Garnish: Chopped toasted pistachios and a small sprig of mint.
  • Wine Pairing: A sparkling Moscato will add a sweet and bubbly finish to the meal.

### Additional Accompaniments

  • Grilled crusty bread & pita bread for dipping.
