•HybridGen AI: AI Training Preview and Testing with GitHub Copilot
Object Computing Inc. (OCI) Training Room, 12140 Woodcrest Executive Drive, Suite 310, St. Louis, mo, USn this meetup, we'll cover two topics - a preview of intensive AI Training coming to St. Louis in late March and practical ways to apply GitHub Copilot to accelerate and automate software testing.
We'll first discuss the upcoming Enterprise AI Accelerator Training program from NFJS coming to St. Louis March 30 - April 1. In this 3.5-day hands-on workshop, attendees will learn about key AI technologies such as AI models, prompting strategies and how to create AI agents, Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, and how to incorporate Retrieval Augmented Generation to ground AI with your own data. The workshop will also guide attendees in building their own AI customer chatbot that incorporates all of these techniques and deploying it to the web.
After this preview, we'll dive into our main topic of the evening, utilizing an AI assistant (GitHub Copilot) to simplify and automate your testing efforts. We'll provide a quick overview of GitHub Copilot and then cover the options, tips, tricks, and techniques for using AI to:
- Generate quick tests for code with built-in functionality
- Leveraging AI to help test unfamiliar codebases
- Using prompting to create more substantial and detailed tests
- Using AI to drive testing for edge cases, performance, and security
- Refactoring code for better testability with AI
- AI-created documentation to help with testing
- Implement best practices like Test-Driven Development (TDD) with AI
- And more!
Both topics will be presented by global trainer, speaker, and author of Learning GitHub Copilot, Brent Laster. Brent will share insights, tips, tricks, and practical techniques for leveraging AI as we cover these topics. And we'll save some time for Q&A. No experience with GitHub Copilot or AI is needed. Come join us for an informative and useful session and learn more about what's possible and practical with these AI assistants!
Note: This is a change from our normal meeting date to accommodate our speaker's schedule. Food and social starts at 6:00pm. Presentation starts at 6:30pm9 attendees
